I think the Calmer will help to stabilize that wide panel of lace better at an angle. What ever you do I know it will be fantastic! :)Ruinwen Dagoriellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17838849121945131543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2015647452516526528.post-79867023861700478372007-06-27T19:25:00.000-07:002007-06-27T19:25:00.000-07:00I prefer the one on the left, but I think the one ...I prefer the one on the left, but I think the one on the right goes better with the rest of the design.Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11024322047827920187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2015647452516526528.post-68410320560049514402007-06-27T17:50:00.000-07:002007-06-27T17:50:00.000-07:00My wishy-washy view: I really like look of the dia...My wishy-washy view: I really like look of the diagonal -- but I think that having more of the Calmer might make it feel too weighty. If you're looking to add substance to the top I'd go with the one on the right. Otherwise the straight version seems lighter and airier.phoenixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01446458271252290106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2015647452516526528.post-27863475908173700862007-06-27T15:12:00.000-07:002007-06-27T15:12:00.000-07:00Interesting. I would be concerned that a field of lace like that might pull out of shape if it were too wide a swath. My guess is that only trial and error will bring you the answer. Go with your bliss and revise your plan of attack if things don't seem to work the way you want them to. Either way you'll have a lovely garment!Julia (MindofWinter)https://www.blogger.com/profile/13380850788576680975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2015647452516526528.post-78284475356862922052007-06-27T14:00:00.000-07:002007-06-27T14:00:00.000-07:00I'm inclined to go for the straight (left) version...I'm inclined to go for the straight (left) version, for two reasons:
1. I like it
2. I wonder if the angle will cause gauge problems. Perhaps it won't but you might find that going from the soft open lace to the solid calmer, may cause the piece to pull in. A swatch would confirm that, I guess.Marniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13515010305975185984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2015647452516526528.post-74327832378406651502007-06-27T11:53:00.000-07:002007-06-27T11:53:00.000-07:00I love the angled version.
